PC Specs Revealed

BF3 DICE was kind enough to reveal the PC required specs today and as you might have guessed DX9 is finally dead in the Battlefield world. This of course only affects the die-hard BF2 crowd out there because the rest of the world has moved along years ago.

The minimum specs are not that bad at all but you should try to aim higher if you want the best possible experience.
Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Core 2 Duo @ 2.0GHz
RAM: 2GB
Graphic card: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible Nvidia or AMD ATI card.
Graphics card memory: 512 MB
Hard drive: 15 GB for disc version or 10 GB for digital version

These specs are long out of date and not official.

DICE has said on many an occasion that a Quad Core is the minimum you'd want to have to run the final game well. Remember that BF3 is primarily designed for the PC. They are pushing the envelope on it.

At the PAX BF3 stand, the PCs that you could play the pre-Beta on were using dual 580's in SLI.

The general assumption is: If you can run BC2 (an unoptimised console port) you should be set for BF3.

The Beta is set to drop soon. Don't ask the date, no one knows. Zh1nto (DICE Community Manager0 only just found out himself but is remaining tight lipped.
