Hi Guys , just letting those that dont already know that John the guy doing work on our new website is in his words " making good progress" which is nice to hear, so the guy is doing his best to push on with it , he has a young family and a busy job so im sure hes doing what he can for us , ill let you know more when i can...PEACE  |

Here is the link to our new website, the link will be changed to our domain name when its finnished http://202.36.220.12 , as there is alot of work required to sort out how the new site will look and a heap of content to add is there two or three arty farty types or just some guys that are really keen to see the new site started ? ,with it being a long weekend it may be a good time to start , ive heard back from John and he can put pics where there is currently text so it gives us some flexabilty as to how things will look , all im thinking of at this point is to sort out the layout of the homepage and take it from there , any volunteers please put your name down ASAP and what skills u may have and if we have to many u may be picked on what u are good at as i dont think we will want to many guys working on it at this point as it could be hard to get decisions made...thanks PEACE mmm think i'm dreaming ..... |

Here is the latest on the longgggggggggggggggggggggg awaited website , the problem all along is that we couldnt afford the $$$ to pay someone that does it full time and with all the earthquakes etc over this way along with John being busy it reached a point that after 27 e-mails and 8 months John has made a serious start on the site, but as you will see from his e-mail now it requires us to add the content which will be alot of work and will mean everyone will have to do their bit for it to turn into a website.....PEACE Okay, so i put in some serious catch-up time over the weekend, and have pretty much done the layout for all the pages. All i really need now is a lot of content from you guys. I have put in all the sections, but they all need content added for them. So im going to need lots of screenshots, videos, captions etc. Also there is a lot of sections there where i have just put in filler text until i can get appropriate text from you guys. You’ll probably want to have a sitdown with your guildies and work out what content you want. The site is currently live, so you can all look at it and see what content you want in there. Obviously i don’t have a Forum integrated yet (which will be the hardest part), but that can come later. And a lot of the section are just empty text at the moment, but will be changed into pretty tables and such when i get appropriate content. As yet the leaders havent been able to get together to discuss where to start with the new website but its clear to me that we will need 4 or 5 guys that will put some time aside each week to keep the things moving so we can feed info to John so that he will stay interested, to be fair on John he was keen at the begining of the process 8 months ago but was let down by a slow responce from us due to things that were happening in peoples lives at the time.
So this is our second and proberly last chance to sort out the new site , we are paying John $300 nzd which is aprox $225 aud which is your and my subs so let us not let it go to waste thats a good chunk of what we have in the bank.
If you could put your name down if your keen to help and those that dont think its for them maybe you could look at the site and give us some feed back as to any ideas or improvments and we try to pick out the best ones and apply them to the site also it would help if someone has an idea and you like it to say so that way we can get the feed back we need ......PEACE

Ill give it a go Peace as long its simple due too time. Ill find out in the next 5 working days if time will permit. Im still waiting on news to whether we will be moving or not... Thanks guys , what i was thinking is meet up once a week for around half an hour to look at it and work our way through things , as long as we are feeding info to John every week so he has something to work on, theres the layout , the content , pics and flash pics, videos etc and rename buttons where we need to.
Im hoping that we can just dump our current forums etc into the new website , ill ask John , hope we can to keep the history of the clan.

Im hoping that we can just dump our current forums etc into the new website , ill ask John , hope we can to keep the history of the clan.
If you are using the same forum software as now (SMF) you can back it up and then chuck it on the new one. |
